Hi @noe noe
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that Excel prints double the number of copies when you select more than one.
To help us narrow this down, could you please confirm:
- Which Excel version are you using?
- Does the issue occur with all Excel files or just specific ones?
- Have you tried printing using the Microsoft Print to PDF option? If yes, does it still duplicate copies?
- Does the problem persist if you disable Collate in the Print dialog?
In the meantime, I recommend some steps below:
- Test in Safe Mode Add-ins or macros can override print settings. Safe Mode disables them, helping isolate the issue.
- Close Excel.
- Press Windows + R, type: excel /safe
- Print again and check if duplication persists.
- Check Printer Settings Sometimes Excel and printer driver settings conflict. If the printer’s control panel is set to multiple copies and Excel also sends multiple copies, the printer may double the output.
- Open Excel > File > Print.
- Click Printer Properties.
- Check if the printer driver has a Copies setting separate from Excel’s setting.
- Set it to 1 and confirm.
- Disable Collate in Excel Print Dialog (If possible, this option depends on your Excel version)
- In File > Print, uncheck Collate and test again.
- Check Page Setup
- Ensure no hidden “Print Entire Workbook” or multiple print areas are selected.
- Print via System Dialog (This option depends on your Excel version)
- Use Ctrl+P > Printer Properties > Print using system dialog and set copies there.
- Switch Printer Driver Type
- If using UFRII, try PCL6 or Canon Generic driver. Alternatively, test with Microsoft Print to PDF to confirm Excel behavior.
- Update or Change Printer Driver Even the latest driver can have compatibility issues. Switching to a universal or alternative driver often resolves conflicts.
- Visit Canon’s official site then Download and install the latest driver.
- If already installed, try Canon Universal driver or switch between UFRII and PCL6.
Note: Some option may not be available in all versions or configurations of Excel.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!
Thank you for your cooperation.
