Outlook for Mac:

I received any e-mail. I

If I want to 1/ reply or 2/ forward e-mail, so the text of the original email is deleted.

This happens in the original, older version of Outlook.

This doesn't happen in the new version, but I want to use the older version. It suits me better.

Thanks for your help

Jaroslav

    Hi @Jaroslav Bílek

Since the New Outlook layout is not a comfortable or viable option for you right now, I did some research regarding the Legacy Outlook behavior. This is a known behavior in recent versions, and I have found two methods that will allow you to continue using Legacy Outlook safely with the original email content fully visible:

Method 1: Update to the Preview Build (Version 16.110.1)

Reports from several users, alongside recent testing, confirm that Microsoft has addressed this known issue in an upcoming release path. Upgrading to this build restores the full text when replying or forwarding.

Open Outlook and go to the top menu bar > Click Help > Check for Updates to open the Microsoft AutoUpdate tool > Click the Advanced button at the bottom > Under the Update Channel dropdown, change it from Current Channel to Current Channel (Preview) > Click Close, then refresh and check for updates > Install the Outlook update (version 16.110.1 or later). Once installed, your email trails should reappear normally.

Method 2: Revert to a Stable Older Version (Version 16.109.3)

I have tested on previous version such as 16.109.3, and this behavior does not occur. Therefore, you may consider reverting to version 16.109.3 or older. This can be done by removing the current Outlook version and installing version 16.109.3 via Update history for Office for Mac - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn

After that, turn off automatic updates for Legacy Outlook for Mac by going to Help > Check for Updates > unchecking Automatically keep Microsoft apps up to date.

I hope this information helps you get your Legacy Outlook back to a working, readable state so you can keep tracking your work trails comfortably. Please let me know if you run into any trouble while trying either of these steps.
